Dec. 2: Rothesay High Red Hawks 3 @ Sussex High Sonics 2 in overtime. Scorers for Sussex were Craig Bettle and Brock Jorgensen. The next game for Sussex is Saturday night at home against Harbour View High at 6:45pm.

Nov. 30: Sussex High Sonics 2 at Simond High Seabees 1. Scorers for Sussex were Matt Allen and Nick deWinter. Jordan Matthews got the win between the pipes. This brings Sussex's record to 3-2-2 with their next game at home on Wednesday night at 8:15pm against Rothesay High School.

Jan. 16: The JV Sonic Boys Basketball team defeated Hampton 77-49. The Sonics were led by Nevin Carhart with 23 points, Robert Dunfield with 21, and Jake Folkins with 10. The boys have two road games left to complete their season.

Dec. 16: The JV Sonic Boys Basketball team dropped their first game of the season to Simonds 59-36. They are 6 and 1 in league play and 9 and 1 overall. The Sonics host KVHS on Thursday Dec.18 at 5:30 pm in league action and then host FHS in an exhibition game on Saturday Dec. 20 at 1:00 pm.

Dec. 15: The Varsity Boys Hockey Sonics won their second league game of the year against Simonds High by a score of 9 to 6. Scorers were Shane Kyle with 2, Trevor Seymour, Joseph McDermott, Colby Parlee, Evan Gass, Alex Aiton, Matt Smith and Marcus Beyer. Mike Morrison was goal for the win. The next Sonics home game is this Friday night against SJHS at 9pm. Also, the Sonics Boys team will take on the Sonic Alumni this Saturday at 8:30 pm.

Dec. 13: The Varsity Boys Hockey Sonics came up one goal short in a hard-fought battle against KVHS, losing 7-6 at home. Scorers for Sussex: Matt Smith (2), Robert Secord (2), Colby Parlee, Marcus Beyer

Dec. 6: In Southern Conference AAA High School Boys Hockey Saturday night in Sussex, Sussex defeated Hampton 3-2. Scorers for Sussex: Robert Secord, Mitchell Murray and Evan Gass with the winner. Matt Smith chip in with 3 assist and Jordan Matthews backstopped Sussex to their first league win.

Nov. 29: The Varsity Boys Hockey Sonics tied Harbour View 5-5 Saturday night. Scorers for Sussex: Robert Secord (2), Evan Gass, Marcus Beyer, Joseph McDermott.

Nov. 25: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost 6-3 to KVHS last night. Carter Mcginnis had 2 goals and a assist while Matt Smith had 1 goal and 2 assists.

Nov. 21-23: The Sonic Varsity Boys Hockey team lost their first game of the St. Stephen tournament 4-1 to St. Malachy's. Joseph McDermott scored the lone Sonic goal. In their next game, the Sonics defeated Tantramar 6-4. Scoring for Sussex were Carter McGinnis (2), Matt Smith, Joseph McDermott, Craig Bettle and Robert Secord.

October 20: The Varsity Boys Soccer team defeated St.Stephen 3-0 and will be playing St.Mac's tomorrow in Saint John at 4:30pm at the Milledgeville field. Trevor Seymour, Bruno Poirier and Evan O'Leary scored for Sussex.

October 20:The Varsity Girls Soccer team beat SJHS 3-2 in overtime to also advance to the league final tomorrow at 4:30pm against KVHS at the Arthur Miller Field in Rothesay. Megan Spicer scored all three goals for Sussex.

October 18: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost 3-2 to Miramichi Valley High in their first exhibition game of the season. Scoring for Sussex were Matt Smith and Robert Secord.

October 15: Senior Girls AAA Soccer: Sussex High Sonics beat Rothesay High 3-0 on three goals by Megan Spicer. Sarah Hourihan and Madeline Belding shared the shutout in goal.

September 18: The SRHS Varsity Boys Soccer Sonics are currently undefeated in the 2008 season with a 3 and 0 record. On September 11 the Sonics defeated Harbourview on the road 6 - 2. On September 16 the Sonics defeated Saint John High School at home 2 - 1, and on September 18 they defeated KVHS 3 - 2 on the road.

April 21: The SRHS Lady Sonics captured first place in their own 10 team Invitational Tournamentheld on Saturday, April 21.  The Sonics were undefeated through the Round Robin with wins over Tantramar, Rothesay, Leo Hayes and Miramichi Valley. This Friday the Sonics are off to the Miramichi to participate in the 20 team MVHS Invitational.

Feb. 24: Colton Jonah played one of his best games as a Sonic to earn a shutout and prolong the team's season with a 3-0 win over KVHS. Scoring for Sussex were Nick Brown, Jordan deWinter, and Mike Thorne. The Sonics play game four in their best-of-five playoff series Tuesday night in KV at 8:00.

Feb. 21: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost to KVHS 6-1 at home. Ryan Kuehl scored the lone Sonic goal. Dan Boyd and Colton Jonah split goaltending duties. The boys play game three in their best-of-five series at home this Saturday at 8:30. The boys must win to extend the series.

Feb. 16: The Sonic Girls Varsity Basketball team advance to Regional Finals Saturday with a 63-50 win over Harrison Trimble. The winner will play in Provincials next Saturday at the Aitken Centre in Fredericton.

Feb. 13: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost to a persistent KVHS team 4-2 in game one of their best-of-five series. Scoring goals for Sussex were Thomas MacEachern and Jordan DeWinter. Keeping the game close in net was Colton Jonah. The Sonics' next game is in KV Tuesday, Feb. 20 @ 8:00.

Feb. 10: The Sonic Boys Hockey team advanced to round two of the playoffs with a 3-2 victory over Harbour View. Sussex goals were scored by Bret Baxendale, Nick Brown, and Matt Smith. Colton Jonah played spectacularly in net. Thanks to our home crowd for the great support.

Feb. 8: The Sonic Girls Varsity Basketball team took an early lead and held on to defeat FHS 67-64. The win allows Sussex to host Regional playoffs next week.

Feb. 6: The Sonic Boys Hockey team showed a lot of determination in a gritty 5-3 win over Harbour View. The winning goal was scored on a blistering slapshot by Jeremy Walker, and Thomas MacEachern provided insurance with a breakaway goal late in the third. Colton Jonah was at his spectacular best in net. The final game in the series with Harbour View will be played Saturday night at the 8th Hussars at 9:15.

Feb. 5: The Sonic Boys Hockey team came out on the wrong end of a 5-0 score against Harbour View in playoff action. Dan Boyd valiantly held the fort in goal. The boys play in game two of the best-of-three series Wednesday night at the 8th Hussars at 9:30. Good luck, Sonics!

Feb. 2: The Sonic Boys Hockey team played well against a strong St. Mac's team, beating them 5-2. Scoring for Sussex were Brandon MacNeill (2), Bernard Dallon, Brad McGinnis, and Robert Secord. Dan Boyd and Colton Jonah split the assignment in goal. The Sonics' next game is at home this Friday at 8:30 against Saint John High.

Jan. 28: The Sonic Boys Hockey team thrashed Harbour View 11-1. Sonic goals were scored by Brandon MacNeill (3), Ryan Kuehl (2), Matt Smith (2), Mike Thorne, Brad McGinnis, Bernard Dallon, and Bret Baxendale. Daniel Boyd played well in goal.

Jan. 20: The Sonic Boys Hockey team beat Harbour View 4-3. The game winner was scored in the closing minutes of the third period by Bret Baxendale. Colton Jonah made several huge saves along the way.

Dec. 30: The Sonic Boys Hockey team fought back from a 4-1 deficit, but came out on the wrong end of a 5-4 decision to Rothesay High in the finals of the Irving Oil Christmas Hockey Tournament. Scoring goals for Sussex were Mike Thorne, Brandon MacNeill, Matt Smith, and Bret Baxendale. Dan Boyd played another strong game for the Sonics in net. Well done, Sonics!

Dec. 30: The Sonic Boys Hockey team beat a determined Riverview High team 2-1 to advance to the finals of the Irving Oil Christmas Tournament. Bernard Dallan recovered from a head-first crash into the boards to score both Sonic goals. Colton Jonah kept his team in the game after giving up a tough goal in the first.

Dec. 29: The Sonic Boys Hockey team beat a strong team from Bridewater, N.S. to advance to their bracket final in the Irving Oil Christmas Tournament Saturday at 10 a.m. at the LBR. Sonic goals were scored by Matt Smith (2), Mike Thorne, and Nick Brown. Dan Boyd earned the win in net.

Dec. 28: The Sonic Boys Hockey team won their first two games at the Saint John Irving Oil Christmas Hockey Tournament, beating the Saint John High Greyhounds 2-0 and the Minto Tigers 6-1. Dan Boyd played his best game as a Sonic against Saint John to earn the shutout. Against Minto, Colton Jonah put forth another stellar effort to shut down the opportunistic Tigers. Scoring goals for the Sonics over the two games were: Stefan Beyer (3), Bret Baxendale (2) Matt Smith (2), and Brandon MacNeill.

Dec. 22: The Sonic Boys Hockey team avenged an earlier loss with a convincing 7-1 victory over St. Mac's. Earning the win with a strong performance in goal was Colton Jonah.

Dec. 21: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost in overtime to Hampton 4-3. Sonic goals were scored by Ryan Kuehl (2) and Jeremy Walker. Daniel Boyd was solid in net, stopping over thirty shots.

Dec. 17: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost 7-5 at home to KVHS.

Dec. 13: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost 7-3 to St. Mac's.

Dec. 5: The Sonic Boys Hockey team lost 4-1 to KVHS. Bernard Dallon scored the lone Sonic goal.

Nov.24: The Sonic Boys Hockey team played one of their best games of the season in a 4-2 victory at home over Saint John High.

Nov. 21: The Sonic Boys Hockey team settled for a controversial tie against top-ranked KVHS Tuesday night in a hard-fought game by both teams.

Nov. 15: The Sonic Boys Hockey team earned one point for a 4-3 shootout loss to KVHS. Scorers for Sussex were Brandon MacNeill (2) and Stefan McKenna. Colton Jonah was stellar in net for the Sonics.

Nov. 6: The Sonic Boys Hockey team blanked Harbour View 6-0 in league play Monday night. Dan Boyd stopped twenty-four shots to earn the shutout in net. Goals were scored by Brandon MacNeill (2), Bret Baxendale (2), Ryan Kuehl, and Robert Secord.

Nov. 3-4: The Sonic Boys Hockey team grew in character through three tough losses in an Edmundston tournament over the weekend. Keep your heads up, Sonics. You have all season to improve.

Nov. 4: The Sonic Varsity Girls Soccer team's season ended with a 5-1 loss to E.S.N. in Moncton. Congratulations to Mrs. Leger and her team on a very successful season.

Oct. 28: The Sonic Varsity Girls Soccer team beat FHS and KVHS in Regional play, both by 1-0 scores. With these wins, the girls advance to Provincials in Moncton on Friday as the top seed in the Southwestern Conference. Good luck, Sonics!

Oct. 28: The Sonic Boys Hockey team split a home-and-home series against Miramichi Valley, winning 5-4 Friday but losing at home 5-1 Saturday night. The Sonics open the regular season at the Lord Beaverbrook Rink against Saint John High this Wednesday. On Friday, the team travels to Edmundston for an exhibition tournament.

Oct. 24: The Sonic Varsity Girls Soccer team lost to KVHS 4-2 in the Southern Conference final. The girls face FHS Saturday morning in Regional play.

Oct. 23: The Sonic Varsity Boys Soccer team lost a 2-1 heartbreaker in overtime to end their season. Adam Waugh scored the lone Sonic goal. Congratulations to Mr. Leger and the boys on a solid season.

Oct. 21: The Sonic Varsity Girls Soccer team beat Simonds 3-1 in the Conference semi-final on goals by Megan Spicer (2) and Rachel Brown.  The girls will now play in the final against the winner of the KV-Hampton semi-final on Tuesday at 4:00pm in Sussex. Both teams from this game will advance to Regionals next weekend in Fredericton.

Oct. 21: The Sonic Varsity Boys Soccer team will be hosting their quarter-final on Monday, Oct. 23, at 4:30pm against SJHS or Hampton High. The boys finished the regular season with a  5-3-1 record-- good enough for 4th place in the Southwest Conference.

Oct. 21: The Sonic JV Boys Soccer team lost 3-1 to FHS in the Southwest Regional semi-final.  The Southern Conference Champions finish the season with an impressive 11 - 3 - 1 record. Mr Caines and Coach Oscar Belding thank the Sonics for a great season. The team is asked to turn in their uniforms to Mr. Caines as soon as possible.

Oct. 21: The Sonic Boys Hockey team tied Hampton 3-3 Saturday night. Goal scorers for Sussex were Shane Kyle, Andrew Baskin, and Matthew Smith. Mike Millican and Dan Boyd both played well in shared goaltending duty.

Oct. 19: The varsity girls soccer team clinched first place in the regular season last night with a 5-1 victory over Simonds High. Megan Spicer scored a hat trick and Lynn Symington score twice. The girls host Simonds in the league semi-final Saturday at noon.

Oct. 18: The Sonic JV Boys Soccer team beat St. Mac's 2-1 on goals by Evan O'Leary. Mike Brown was outstanding in net.

Oct. 17: The Sonic Varsity Girls Soccer team stretched their record to 10-1 with a 5-0 shut-out of Hampton. Rachel Brown and Megan Spicer each scored twice for the Sonics, and Danielle Walker scored the other Sussex goal.

Oct. 16: The Sonic JV Boys Soccer team beat KVHS 2-1. Goals were scored by Matt Smith and Evan O'Leary. Mike Smith earned the win in goal.

Oct. 16: The Sonic Varsity Girls Soccer team shut out Harbour View 7-0 on goals by Emma Hayes, Lynn Symington, Molly Monahan, Danielle Walker and three by Rachel Brown.

Oct. 16: The Sonic Varsity Boys Soccer team were trounced 7-0 by FHS. Ouch.

Oct. 14: The Sonic Varsity Girls Soccer team blanked Saint John High 2-0 on goals from Megan Spicer and Rachel Brown. The girls play home games Monday and Tuesday afternoon at 5:00.

Oct. 14: The Sonic Boys JV Soccer team lost their final regular season game 1-0 to St. Mac's. The boys have finished the regular season in first place, and play their first playoff game at home against KVHS Monday afternoon at 4:00.

Oct. 10: The JV Boys Soccer team defeated Simonds 3 - 0  with two goals by Matthew Smith and a single by Sean Bidlake.  Mike Brown was in goal for Sussex.

Oct. 10: The Varsity Girls Soccer team was back in action Tuesday night. The girls defeated St. Mac's 5-0 on three goals from Megan Spicer and one each from Danielle Walker and Rachel Brown.

Oct. 5: The Sonic JV Boys Soccer team shut out Harbour View 4-0, bringing their record to 7 and 1.

Oct. 5: The Sonic Girls Field Hockey team was beaten by Harbour View 4-0.

Oct. 4: The Sonic Boys Varsity Soccer team enjoyed a dominant 8-1 win over Oromocto. Scott Brown had five goals for the Sonics; Stefan McKenna, Joel Michaud, and Ryan Abell each scored once.

Oct. 4: The Sonic Boys Baseball team beat Leo Hayes 3-1 in playoff action. Earning the win on the mound for Sussex was Ryan Oxford.

Oct. 4: The Sonic Girls Field Hockey team fought Saint John High to a scoreless draw.

Oct.3: The Sonic Girls Softball team beat Leo Hayes 10-8 in quarterfinal playoff action. The Sonics now advance to semis this Thursday.

Oct.3: The Sonic Boys Baseball team beat FHS 2-1 in playoff action. They face Leo Hayes High Wednesday night in Sussex Corner.

Sept. 30-Oct. 1: The Sonic Boys Varsity Soccer team played in a tournament in Hampton this weekend. In their first game they shut out Hampton on three goals by Scott Brown; in game two the boys tied Riverview 2-2, with Scott Brown and Stefan McKenna scoring for the Sonics. In the semi-finals the Sonics lost 3-1 to KVHS. Scott Brown scored the only Sussex goal.

Sept. 30: The Sonic Girls Softball team earned a pair of wins in Fredericton on Saturday: 19-9 over Leo Hayes Lions and 17-7 over FHS Black Cats. The Sonics finish their regular season with a record of 5 wins and 3 losses.

Sept. 30: The Sonic Boys JV Soccer team blanked KVHS 1-0.

Sept. 30: The Sonic Girls Varsity Soccer team lost their first game of the season at home 3-1 to KVHS. Megan Spicer scored the lone Sonic goal.

Sept. 28: The Sonic Girls Varsity Soccer team blanked Hampton 5-0. Megan Spicer scored all five Sonic goals; Aneleyse Howe Hayes posted the shutout.

Sept. 27: The Sonic Girls Varsity Field Hockey team lost a close game to Oromocto 1-0.

Sept. 27: The Sonic Boys Soccer team spoiled the perfect record of the visiting Leo Hayes Lions with a 1-1 tie. The Sonic goal was scored by Dave Guptill.

Sept. 26: The Sonic Girls Varsity Field Hockey team defeated St. Mac's 2-0 at home. Janell Jarvis scored both Sonic goals, and Kayleigh LeBlanc posted the shutout.

Sept. 27: The Sonic Boys JV Soccer team defeated Saint John High 3-2.

Sept. 26: The Sonic Boys Baseball team beat Saint John High 7-4. Pitching for Sussex were Trevor Steen and Philip Martin.

Sept 26: The Sonic Girls Soccer team beat Simonds 3-1. Megan Spicer scored all Sonic goals.

Sept. 26: The Sonic Girls Softball team lost to St. Mac's 12-6.

Sept. 25: Congratulations to our SRHS Golf Team who finished 3rd in the SouthWest Regional Tournament held at the Sussex Golf Club on Monday, September 25th.  With such a strong finish out of 11 AAA Schools, we will advance to the Provincials on October 2nd at Pine Needles in Shediac.  The following students make up the SRHS Golf Team: Adam Aiton, Marcus Aiton, Jacob Burton, Tyler Fairweather, and Mike Mitton. The coach is Mr. Muscroft.

Sept. 25: The Sonic Boys JV Soccer team beat St. Mac's 5-2.

Sept. 25: The Varsity Boys Soccer team defeated St. Mac's 3-1 in league play. Stefan McKenna scored two of the Sussex goals, and Stefan Beyer scored the other. The Sonics host Leo Hayes this Wednesday at 5:00.

Sept. 23: The Sonic Boys JV Soccer team beat arch-rival KVHS 3-1.

Sept. 23: The Varsity Boys Soccer team won the "B" Division Championship at the Universite de Moncton Bleu et Or Tournament over the weekend. After losing their opener 6-1 to L.J.R., the boys swept their next three games: 3-0 vs. Caraquet; 3-0 vs. Shippigan; and 5-4 vs. Clement Cormier.

Sept. 22: The Sonic Boys JV Soccer team trounced Harbour View 8-0.
